Some of this website requires Javascript enabled
Since most websites have a blog I decided to build one for my recent activities:
Date- 1 Feb 2008
I have not made any changes to the site as I have had a pretty hectic xmas. To further delay any changes I have just pruchased a new pc from dell which I have not yet fully configured (no webserver, php or MySQL). I am however working hard on a new project which uses XML feeds and downloaded data files to populate the inventory of a database at my current employment.

Although no visible changes to the content, I have been modifying and improving on the websites PHP and Javascript code and have hopefully improved the speed of the website (I was getting bored waiting for it to load). I have tidied the Javascript code although there is very little of it and added some components to the main page because they are useful to me.

I am back in the UK, still recovering from jet-lag and already missing USA (especially the chocolate and the ability to drive though red lights if turning right). It put a smile on my face to see that the website for work is now up and running although I am now wondering which stage of development we are now up to and how many problems were encountered deploying the new site. As for Florida I have had 3 weeks there and still didn't do everything we had planned. We saw all Disney parks and 3 water parks (2 Disney and Universals wet & wild), swam with dolphins and took more photo's than any other holiday. The houses there are far better than the UK, much bigger and well spaced out. Roads are far wider and the cars are much nicer (also only cost about £15 to completely fill our car with petrol!) and people appear to be much happier and pleasant in general. I look forward to visiting again in the future.

I have finally finished the re-design of the site involving new graphics, some layout changes and a little AJAX (check out the project page). I have also integrated Google maps which is great fun to play with and created this blog page for my current activities. On a more personal note I am going to Florida for three weeks soon which I am looking forward too. From a work point of view I am still enjoying my time at Bedbookers.com and hopefully we will be rolling out the new site soon. My masters project has fell a little behind but I do have until December now so I hope to get my paper on 'XML and programming' completed by then.
