| Role requirements | ||||
| One of the directors of Barnside jive created Jive-aerobics as a way to advertise the night classes and provide dance classes during the day. Due to my level of experience and drive I was asked to assist in this project by promoting these classes to gyms and instructing a number of them over as wide an area as possible. I am also in the process of training a new demonstrator/teacher to assist with the classes. | ||||

| Feb 2006 | Sept 2006 | 22Solution | Bespoke software solutions | Website/software developer |
| Role requirements | ||||
| When I finished my course I was contracted part time to produce management software for a swimming teaching business to produce class sheets and financial information for all venues. For this project I used Visual Basic 6 with a MySQL database and researched encryption methods as the queries and data are transmitted over open internet connections and wireless networks. In the last few months I was required to learn PHP and produce administration pages for current websites, making them easier to update and maintain. I was again contracted by 22Solution after they had relocated the business and was developing administrative pages for current websites (see projects) and providing support for old projects both software and web-based. | ||||

| 2004 | Present | Barnside Jive | Recreation | Dance instructor/Class co-ordinator |
| Role requirements | ||||
| I started dancing as a hobby but was quickly asked to demonstrate and then teach classes as cover for current instructors. I received my first venue as experience because it was due to close after 1 month. After organising my own advertising campaign and bringing my unique style of teaching to the venue I was able to save it from closing.
As the only instructor of Barnside jive to actively promote and teach advanced moves and drops I offered to teach these at our other venues in return for promoting mine. This became a success and I am often requested to instruct classes for other venues while increasing the popularity of mine. To effectively teach the advanced classes I have trained 3 new demonstrators and have hired and trained my own staff to ensure the smooth running of the dance nights. |
